Running along the Lehigh Valley Railroad spur, the trail is 1.8 miles in length, beginning at Lower Landsdown Road and ending in the center of the Town of Clinton. The trail passes through woodland, meadow and wetlands, and offers access to the South Branch of the Raritan River. It is stocked with trout, and fishing is allowed. There is a multitude of wildlife viewing possibilities along the trail. Wood Thrush and Veery will take advantage of the woods, while edge species such as Indigo Bunting and Eastern Kingbird may be visible. During spring migration warblers will be attracted to the woods. Look for American Redstart, Common Yellowthroat and Yellow, Yellow-rumped and Black-and-white Warblers. In the fall, migrating hawks may hunt in the meadow area for small prey. The wetlands are home to several species of frogs such as green, pickerel or wood. Listen for their spring chorus early in the season.
