Leave Sparta Glen by turning Right onto CR 620/Glen Road. After 0.3 miles turn Left at the first light onto Main Street. After 0.9 miles and four traffic lights bear Left onto CR 181 South/Woodport Road. After 3.6 miles turn Right onto Prospect Point Road. After 1.1 miles bear Right onto CR 609 South/Northwood Avenue. Northwood Avenue becomes Indian Trail. After 1.0 miles parking is on the Left or a short distance further on the Right. Map | | This wetlands sanctuary provides a good view of a northwestern inlet of Lake Hopatcong. View the inlet from the parking area, walk along the grass to a few access points or walk across the street to the bird blind that looks out over a field and wetlands area. Look for a variety of waterfowl, plus Belted Kingfisher, Northern Cardinal, Gray Catbird, American Robin, Bald Eagle, Great and Snowy Egrets, Great Blue and Green Herons, Song Sparrow and Carolina Wren. To access the Highlands Trail, walk north from the parking area and turn into the first street on the Left, then walk a short distance; trail access is on the Left.
