Wildlife watching and outdoor recreation await visitors to Old Mine Road; the possibilities are endless. The road is sandwiched between the Delaware River and the Kittatinny Ridge, and wildlife is plentiful; from warblers to hawks to eagles, porcupines, coyotes and bears. Visit crystal clear lakes, waterfalls, Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) that straddle the best fishing streams in the state. There are hidden jewels that up to this point only the locals know, and upon reaching the highest point in the state, enjoy the pitch pine/scrub oak habitat of the north along with open fields, wetlands, bogs, vernal pools, lakes and streams.
