Experience exceptional outdoor and wildlife watching activities at the second of two recreational reservoirs in the county. Solitude awaits on Cushetunk Mountain, home to breeding Bald Eagles. Fallow and cultivated fields, wetlands and conifers will mix up the wildlife watching experience. Put on hiking boots; Landsdown and Capoolong Wildlife Management Area (WMA) offer a combined eight miles of hiking trails that meander through woodlands, meadow and riparian habitat. Take a leisurely walk through a pine forest and enjoy spectacular views of the South Branch of the Raritan River from above. Lastly, experience the Raritan River up close while looking for wildlife, picnicking, canoeing, kayaking or fishing along its banks.
